Brides, let’s talk timing. This bridal-inspired boudoir session at The Spot Studio in Austin, Texas was for a client getting ready for her European wedding, and it was edgy, editorial, and dripping in lace. It also happened at exactly the right moment, which is the thing nobody tells you about bridal boudoir: when you do it matters almost as much as how you do it.
As an Austin boudoir photographer, my rule of thumb is to shoot anywhere from 6 months to 2 months before the wedding, and to reach out at least a month before you want to shoot. Why 2 months at the latest? Your gallery arrives in 2-3 weeks, and if you want a printed gift for your partner (and you do), you need another 3-4 weeks to design and receive it. Order that gift 3-4 weeks before the big day and you’re golden. Wait until the week before and you’re gifting a very nice JPEG on a phone, which, honestly, is not the vibe (but could be if needed haha).
Now for the fun part: prepping.
What I don’t want you doing is making sudden changes right before: no brand-new haircut, no experimental dye job, no first-time spray tan the morning of. Stick with what you know and love, and let me handle the editorial drama. Ready to book your bridal boudoir session in Austin? Reach out and let’s get something on the calendar.
