I met Anna and Grant over a year before their wedding. They met in college in Texas and moved around the country, which is how they ended up planning a destination wedding in the Texas Hill Country. They were drawn to the European architecture and nature surrounding Villa Antonia.
Thinking back on their day I truly just think of joy, kindness and love. So much damn love…
Love between the two of them, their friends and family surrounding them and even the love Anna and Grant had for every contributing vendor that helped keep their day running beautifully.
Anna and Grant wanted to celebrate their love, commitment, their friends and family. And they did exactly that.
They are calm, grounded people, driven and resilient, the kind who prioritize what actually matters. That steadiness showed up all day long. They waited to see each other until Anna walked down the aisle, choosing intention over convenience. Before the ceremony, Anna shared a tender first look with her dad, and Grant had one with his mom, and it was Grant’s mom who couldn’t hold back the tears. There’s something incredibly telling about a son who moves his mother to tears before he even says “I do.”
Their Catholic ceremony was traditional and reverent, a full mass held in a sacred stillness. But my favorite moment wasn’t loud or dramatic. While guests went up for communion, Anna and Grant remained at the altar and quietly looked down at their rings. They exchanged this subtle, joy-filled glance, almost pride. Like, we did this. It was intimate in the most understated way. A private celebration in the middle of a very public commitment.
And then… we were off to Villa Antonia.
Early December gave us the kind of weather you pray for. Crisp but comfortable. A warm glow around the stone architecture that followed us through sunset portraits. The light was unreal, soft and golden, almost European in feeling. Villa Antonia stands so confidently on its own that the design didn’t need to compete. Everything was classy, elevated, and perfectly complementary to the space.
Cocktail hour buzzed. Guests mingled across the terraces, laughter bouncing off walls, drinks in hand. It felt like everyone was exactly where they wanted to be.
The reception began with parent dances and Anna and Grant’s first dance, then the band kicked in. And when I tell you it was a party…
The dance floor was packed. The kind of packed where there’s no “edge of the dance floor,” you’re either in it or you’re not. Beer bottles doubled as microphones. Guests screamed lyrics. Anna and Grant got on stage for a song. They stayed until the very end. No early exits. No fading out quietly. They were in it with their people from the beginning to send off.
If their wedding had a soundtrack, it would be Hozier meets Glass Animals with a little Cage the Elephant edge, soulful but electric. Intentional but unafraid to let loose.
What stands out most, though, isn’t just the beauty or the party. It’s their gratitude.
Hugs for everyone. Genuine thank-yous. The sweetest note sent after the wedding that reminded us why we do this in the first place. Anna and Grant don’t just love each other well, they love their people well. And you could feel it in every interaction.
I left that night on cloud nine. One of those weddings where your cup feels completely full.
A sacred beginning. A golden Hill Country glow. And a heck of a dance floor to seal the deal.
Thank you Anna + Grant
