March in Corpus Christi feels different somehow. Warm air, a little wind constantly moving through everything, the bay calm in the background while excitement filled the day ahead. Looking back on Lauren + John’s wedding, that balance feels a lot like them, grounded and playful all at once.
I’ve found myself thinking about their wedding often since delivering their gallery. Not because of one grand moment, but because of how the entire day felt. Joyful. Intentional. Fully lived in.
Lauren spent the morning at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel with her girls, absolutely glowing with excitement to marry her best friend. Some of my favorite moments from the day happened quietly. Time with her mom, her dad’s first look, her girls being the world’s best hype women, the kind of moments that seem to slow time for a second. And then there’s John, who looks at Lauren with the kind of certainty and adoration that makes everyone around them feel it too. Around him, she seemed completely herself, playful, affectionate, and light.
Their vision for the day felt thoughtful in every way. Formal but never stiff. Romantic without trying too hard. Overflowing florals, satin brown dresses, parasols in the courtyard, string lights overhead as guests gathered to celebrate the two of them.
The entire evening carried this energy of togetherness. Mariachi music welcoming guests into cocktail hour, laughter echoing through the venue, hugs and happy chaos filling the dance floor later in the night. Before the first dances began, Lauren + John slipped away together for a quiet moment to decompress and breathe it all in. I think that says everything about them.
Their gallery feels the same way their wedding did, warm, nostalgic, energetic, and alive. The blurry frames, the movement, the film, the in-between moments. But more than anything, I keep coming back to how happy Lauren looks in every image.
Not just wedding-day happy.
Fully herself happy.
